 Recruiting 101: Don't Do This!

Two years of covid has thrown church volunteerism upside down. It's a good time to review the basics, including what we should NOT do. Read about it "Want Volunteers? Avoid This!"

It's About Time: Let's look at Everyday Serving!

After nearly 30 years of leading church volunteerism, it's about time I started leading healthy serving in everyday life. For perhaps 100 years, churches have focused on people serving at church. Isn't it about time we all focused on serving in everyday life?

Yes, it's time. Despite appearances. As American churches begin to gear back up as the pandemic recedes, fewer regular volunteers are returning. We're desperate for more volunteers.

But perhaps the most effective approach is through the bigger picture. If all God's people were serving more intentionally, joyfully, impactfully and faith-fully in everything they do, both the church and the world would be better served. Read more

Do you have issues with time? Do your people?

"It's About Time" is a new tool to help us deal with issues of time and tasks by viewing them as our everyday serving. Check out the promo video here. It's for people who:
  • are going crazy with too many tasks on their plate
  • are in despair because they have too many empty hours or can't do what they used to do and still want to do
  • are facing difficult choices in their tasks
  • tasks that are difficult or draining

We all have issues with time! "It's About Time" is a six session resource that helps people, in small groups of 2 to 6 people, work on issues with time and tasks through the lens of our faith. It's based on God's word, but is more a discipleship tool than a traditional Bible study, encouraging us all to recalibrate all our tasks as serving Jesus. A short video introduces the topic of each session. The participant handout and Leader's Guide prompt discussion and practical application. Available in The Equipper store, the $14.99 purchase price allows unlimited use in your church with use of the username and password created at time of purchase. Components are online and can be downlloaded or streamed. View the explanatory video here.

If you have issues with time (and who doesn't!), take a look at "It's About Time." Find a friend or two to use it with you; we're much more likely to change when we partner with someone else!
